Resolving Slowness and Freezing Issues in Adobe Acrobat Reader

Are you experiencing freezes, slowness, or unresponsiveness with your Adobe Acrobat Reader? Here is the solution:

If you are experiencing slowness or freezing while opening and signing documents in Adobe Acrobat Reader, please follow the steps below to resolve the issue:

  1. Open Adobe Acrobat Reader.
  2. Navigate to Menu > Preferences > Security (Enhanced).
  3. Uncheck the option “Enable Protected Mode at startup“.
  4. A popup box will appear; click Yes to confirm.
  5. Click OK to apply the changes.
  6. Close Adobe Acrobat Reader and reopen it.

Path (for Reader): SOFTWARE\Policies\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\DC\FeatureLockDown
Path (for Acrobat Pro): SOFTWARE\Policies\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\DC\FeatureLockDown

Reg Value Name: bProtectedMode
Reg Value Data: 0
